How to apply for verifying profile on Twitter
Many countries around the world will start accepting applications for verification in phases. You will find it in the 'Account Settings' tab when that feature is turned on for your account. If not, it will be seen in the next few weeks.
The application process is simple. Follow the instructions shown on the screen. Once the application is submitted, Twitter will respond within a few days. However, if the amount of applications is high, it may take a few weeks. No application will be automatic. Instead, people will be involved in every step of the process.
If your account is approved for verification, a blue badge will appear on the profile. if Twitter does not approve and you consider yourself eligible to be verified, you can re-apply after 30 days.
Those whose accounts have already been verified do not need to re-apply.
A verification program for high-profile people was launched on Twitter in 2009. The purpose was to prevent people from opening fake accounts in their names.
However, when it started accepting mass applications in 2016, many 'ineligible' accounts were verified, so in November 2016, Twitter shut down the facility.
However, in the case of famous people, the manual verification process continues. Four years after the closure, Twitter announced the launch of the facility again.
